I was perusing my Instagram feed to figure out what to post for WIP Wednesday, and it’s most pictures of me snuggling with Nina. While I’m happy to slather the internet with pictures of my cats, perhaps you’d be interested in this shot of my midarm studio area?
I finally hung my finished Favorite Things BOM! Sewing the sleeve on the back dragged on (as it usually does), but it’s now hanging joyfully behind my HQ Sweet 16 Cindy for inspiration.
I should have more to show next week since I will have done the first of three Christmases (my parents, ours, and my in-law’s) by the next WIP Wednesday!
It looks like you have your own mini (these aren’t mini quilts, right?) gallery like Camille Roskelley shows periodically?
What is the calendar quilt? Did I miss that in my #podcastdeliquent mode?
It’s an older quilt from 2013 for an MQG challenge based on Madrona Road fabric. I posted about it here: http://www.hiptobeasquarepodcast.com/?s=madrona+road
Love! Now, I’m assuming the clip getup is to hold the weight/excess bulk of quilts while you are quilting them…. can you explain more about how you put it together and how you use it?
Yes! Short answer is they are dog grooming arms that I added bungee cords and muslin clips to. Katie at Katie’s Quilting Corner shared the idea.
You amaze me! Love your podcast and seeing all of the things you make. Love the Stitch show, I wish I could have some of your energy! Merry Christmas!
I can’t tell from the pic, is that a clothesline type thing you have up there to hang stuff? That’s nifty.
Yes! It’s a Dignitet curtain wire from IKEA: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/departments/living_room/18894/
I was already super impressed by the MFT quilt, but I just didn’t realize how small it is! I’m not a paper piercing fan, so the idea of all those tiny bits is a little anxiety-inducing! It really is incredible.
Also, thanks for the link (again) to the IKEA hanging thingy. I think that would work in my space as well.
