This week was mostly raffle quilt kitting work, but I did finish 6 donation placemats. I was also gifted some scraps so I included those in the spirit of honesty.
I’ve got a charity quilt basted and ready to quilt; I’m thinking I won’t have to work late as much this week given the progress I made last week on the work project, so I’m hopeful to get it quilted and bound before I head out of town for work next weekend.
- Used this Week: 3 yard
- 3 for 6 placemats
- Used Year to Date: 53.75 yards
- Added this Week: 1 yard
- Scrap donation
- Net Used YTD: 7.25 yards
- YTD Used for Charity: 24.25 yards (42% of total used)

Math is hard. How is it possible that you have used 53.75 yards, 24.25 yards of which was for charity, but your net used is 7.25. 53.75-24.25 does not equal 7.25. Did you miss a number or what am I not understanding?
The 24.75 yd for charity is a subset of the total 53.75 used. It’s not the number subtracted to get the Net Used figure. I don’t publicly track the cumulative intake number, which is what’s subtracted to get the Net Used number.
Math, shmath. Kudos to you for all the charity sewing you do!! Impressive and inspiring!!!

If you try another Dorothea Benton Frank book, in the Low Country series, try to read them in order. Some of the characters do show up in more than one book.
