This quilt was pretty fun to make. The center star is 36″ finished, and I think it used a total of 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 yd of purple “made fabric”.
I started with piecing the smallest bits of fabric together and adding on the larger and larger fabrics until I ended up with about a yard. From there I cut the setting triangles and the points for the star. I had to piece together another bit for the star center.
The quilting is an overall meander - purple thread in the purple, and white thread in the white. I’m considering recreating this as a wallhanging in a different color, and making the quilting more interesting, like a different filler in each fabric.
Of course I had to piece the back, too!
It looks really cook, Pam! And what a great use of small scraps!
Why did I write cook, when I wanted to say cool?!
Such a fun quilt! I love the use of scraps in this one and the idea of “made” fabric. I think I may need to try something like this!
I think we need to have a made fabric challenge.
I want to learn to meander like that. What helped you to get so good.? Did you learn from craftsy class? Do you stitch in ditch first?
